While we were there, we attended the programme for the night & it was called ROJAK 10 - The Collaborative Edition
It was fun.. :)Here is what it is all about: ( from the organiser.. )
1. ROJAK is derived from a Malay salad dish of mixed vegetables and fruit and the term is used locally to describe mixture and variety.
2. ROJAK is organised by FARM - a society that promotes and supports local artists/designers.
3. ROJAK began as an intimate house gathering where we shared common beliefs, dreams, and lotsa drinks.
4. ROJAK is an art & design sharing session featuring 10 local creatives held every quarterly.
5. ROJAK is always open for everyone and anyone who wants to share their works. Whether you are new in the field, or have been around.
6. ROJAK is always held at different places every time, from houses to back alleys, we'll love you to explore the city with us.
7. ROJAK celebrates and remembers important architectural icons. We've paid homage to Pearl Bank apartments, Golden Mile complex and the National Stadium.
8. ROJAK is a very casual, no fuss, no frills event. We encourage people to bring their own drinks to share with all.
9. ROJAK is where you can make new friends from various design fields, and possibly collaborate!
10. ROJAK is freeee. FARM organises it out of love. So do the presenters, for the love of their works.
And in conjunction with the Singapore Design Festival 2007 and Archifest 2007, we present ROJAK 10: The Collaborative Edition.
We are happy to have 5 groups of artists/designers who will share with you their works and processes that stems from collaboration. So come, bring some beer and join us this coming December.
