Nice, quiet place with a tranquil ambience.. :)
We also strolled down (the well-known district for its fashion & the arts) - Haji Lane,
which was just parallel to Arab Street..
We have not visited the place for quite awhile since last year..
After the leisure stroll, we headed to Liang Seah Street
where we stopped over at Lai Lai Family Restaurant for tea..
I tried their Pork Floss & Cheese Toast, Thick Peanut Butter Toast & their Red Milk Jasmine Bubble Tea which all tasted not bad..
(Too hungry & busy eating that I didn't bother to take any pics this time.. :d)
Talking about food..
This week, on Monday & Wednesday night, I also brought Shawn Ethan for dinner at Ishi Mura Japanese Food Street, located inside Yishun's Northpoint Shopping Centre.
That was our third/fourth time there..
We tried their Salmon Steak Cream Sauce Omelette Rice, Black Pepper Beef Omelette Rice, Scallop Cream Sauce Omelette Rice..
So yummy! ;d
Shawn & I also tried their Ishi Special Yaki Soba & Vegetable Pancake Okonomiyaki..
That's Shawn Ethan posing with our food.. :d Wahahaha! ;D
Watched 2 movies on DVD this week as well..
Surrogates (2009)
I wouldn't say this movie was superb or awesome..
But I must say it was surprisingly compelling for a Sci-Fi film..
A fine performance by Bruce Willis..
His character's journey through the bizarre world in the movie is obviously the heart of the film and it's written and portrayed very well.
12 Lotus《12莲花》(2008)
People who know me well will know that I'm an ardent movie fan of Hollywood Blockbusters & it's absolutely obvious, even from all my past years of previous blog posts, one will definitely notice that I watch mainly Hollywood movies, even though I do watch Chinese movies & local films occasionally..
The above movie was one which I've postponed watching for quite some time till Clement passed me the DVD recently..
After watching it, I felt that this film is average.
I felt that the storyline is too over-the-top.
In fact, I felt that it was not as good as 881 (an earlier movie by Royston as well).
I enjoyed 881.
I personally felt that this film has lots of weak points & even its quality, I've noticed, is not as good as 881.. [Example, I'm not sure if I am the only one noticing that the film tends to look "grainy" in many parts?]
However, I am moved by the committed performances of Liu Ling Ling and Mindee Ong.
One could see the amount of hard work and effort that was put in by them and the director.
Their splendid acting, I must say, was simply a pleasure to watch.
Found another KOI Bubble Milk Tea
wannabe yesterday evening! :p
Well, I happened to be passing through Bedok Central after visiting the Bedok National Library yesterday to return a library book which I've just finished reading..
Happened to "stumble" upon this Bubble Milk Tea outlet..
Thus I decided to purchase a cup of its Bubble Milk Tea to taste & see if it's nice..
Nah.. After trying it, I must say this Bubble Milk Tea is definitely not as nice as KOI's & is no way anywhere comparable to KOI's..
