Goodbye August.. Hello September.. ^^ [Movies, Music & Food!!! 3 things I can never live without!!! LOL!!!]

August had been a really good month for me..

Very blessed in every area, especially, financially.. ^__^

Praying that September would be an even better month!

Fighting!!! ^^

Managed to squeeze some time into my busy schedule to watch a few movies on DVD last month.. ^^

Watched this very heartwarming Korean comedy - Hello Ghost (헬로우 고스트)

& love it lots!

I've always wanted to watch this movie years ago when it was first released in Korea & am so happy I've finally watched it! ^_^

The film was the 9th highest grosser of Korean films in 2010.

The film was bought by American film production company 1492 Pictures in February 2011 and is scheduled to be remade by Chris Columbus.

Really awesome movie!

Highly recommended!

The story is about this guy name Sang-man (Cha Tae-hyeon) who starts seeing four annoying ghosts after a failed suicide attempt. Carrying out their individual wishes, he finds the pleasures of daily life and forgets about his loneliness and depression.

A very meaningful movie..

I actually cried at the end.. Kekeke.. which is so unlike me.. ^_^

This goes to show how good the movie was.. ^_^

And I'm very happy that Columbus is gonna remake it! ^_^

Also watched another movie which won multiple awards recently..

This movie & its actors & actresses actually won more than 30 over awards in total!!!

Ip, in the titled role as Sister Peach, won the Best Actress Award in the 68th Venice International Film Festival.

A Simple Life is an official selection for the competition of 68th Venice International Film Festival, and it won 4 awards. Deanie Ip won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress by her role in this film. She is also the first Hong Kong woman to be the winner of the prize. In March, she has also become the first Hong Kong woman to win Asian Film Award for Best Actress. Except this, the director Ann Hui has become the first female to win the Lifetime Achievement Award. At the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards Ceremony, A Simple Life won 5 major prizes (film, director, screenplay, actor, actress), repeating the situation of Summer Snow in 1996, which was also directed by Ann Hui. What a week...

Sad news this week..

On Monday, the world's badly shaken & deeply saddened by the news of the sudden death of American recording artist, actress, producer, and model - Whitney Houston (1963-2012)

It's really sad.. She was such an amazing person & one of the world's best selling music artiste of all time, having sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide and was cited the most-awarded female act of all time.

Her awards include two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards in her lifetime..

Find out more about her accomplishments at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Houston

The world has lost another music legend.. :_(

To add on to that sad news, another sad piece of news was released to the media on Tuesday..

Mandopop singers and production staff alike mourned the loss of 60-year-old singer Feng Fei Fei 鳳飛飛,

who passed away on January 3 after succumbing to lung cancer.

The news was not released earlier as she didn't want her fans to feel sad during the New Year then..

She was another great diva & inspiring legend in the Mandopop industry..

My parents & I grew up listening to her songs..

During her lifetime & up till now, she receives nothing but praises from fellow singers & production staff for her elegant, low-key, simple, professional ways & being the finest example of a true artiste..

She was a very special person and it's an extremely great loss to the Mandopop industry & the world for losing yet another music legend.. :_(

On a lighter note, here's what the world's been talking about these days... Jeremy Lin!

And even while I'm mentioning about him here on my blog, The Knicks have won six straight games with Jeremy Lin, who has recorded 20 or more points and seven or more assists in each.

In his past three games, he has torched the Lakers on national television at the Garden, hit a winning free throw in Minnesota and nailed a winning 3 with a half-second left in Toronto.

This guy's absolutely amazing!

LINSANITY! LINCREDIBLE!

Okay.. Now to be more personal...

I personally had a great week so far...(^_-)

That's me with messy hair on Sunday morning.. :p

‎I was showered with very lovely gestures & gifts by many on Valentine's Day... & a BIG surprise pressie from BB!!! (^_^)

Thank you for the HUGE surprise, bb!!! (^_^)

Below are some photos I took via my iPhone 4 32GB on Valentine's Day..

Dinner @ Ikea Tampines! (^_^)

감사합니다! Gamsahabnida, Andy!

Come Buy in Taipei since 2002..

Pics..

Knocked off early from work @ 2 plus pm yesterday & went to Far East Plaza for a pedicure! (^_^)

I usually have it done in dark colors such as black, dark red, dark blue, etc. But this time round, I had it done differently!

I chose Doraemon blue!!!

Haha!

Nice? LOL.. :p

After my pedicure session, I met up with my friend, Jay Ong, for a drink at ION Orchard. (^_^)

Had a great time catching up with each other! (^_^)

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, that in the midst of my busy schedule on my leave day, I met BB for lunch @ Ikea Tampines while I was there to buy some household stuff..

Here's a pic of our sumptuous lunch.. (^_^)

It's awesome to be there on a weekday as there's few people & ample parking space.. (^_^)

My 4 day long weekend is over so soon.. : /

It was a long weekend for me as I was on leave on Friday the 14th and Monday the 17th..

Yeah.. Spent lots of time with the boys during the weekend.. (^_^)

Here's 2 snapshots I took of them while they were playing in their playroom & they were unaware of me taking photos, of course..

(Above) I spotted Jonathan Ezra teaching Doraemon & McDull the pig how to play TV games! LOL!

So cute! (^_^)

(Above) I cooked this on Saturday..

My special recipe of Fried Rice!

I threw in lots of ingredients for this dish.. Fried rice with egg, Chinese sausages, Honey Baked Ham with herbs, carrots, green peas, long beans, sweet corn, with cheese toppings!

It was yummy & both the boys love it! (^_^)

And... after shifting into our new home for coming 2 months already...

I finally arranged for the piano movers to move my piano in yesterday!

These fellas are my heroes!

They have been my faithful companions for much more than a decade!

I've bought them since I was a teenager..

Sad to say, they have also been physically abused & slightly defaced by my 2 boys on several occasions for the past few years, especially so for poor Mr Piano who had been frequently "banged" on by Shawn Ethan for the past 2-3 years!

LOL!

Here's another pic I took of the Doraemon file I bought yesterday when I went shopping..

So kawaii neh! (^_^)

Spent a fruitful leave day of personal activities yesterday while both the boys were in school..

After spending the morning practising on my piano, I went out in the afternoon..

Went to the nearby shopping mall - Compass Point,

where I went to shop for some toiletries & household stuff, etc..

Managed to get my hair & eyebrows trimmed @ Jean Yip salon..

Went for a pedicure @ Nails by The Good Earth..

Also went to buy some sushi & snacks for the boys @ Cold Storage..

That evening, I also visited Ikea Tampines
where I bought some more storage boxes to store the boys' uncountable number of toys!

What a fruitful long weekend! (^_^)

Random pics..

It's been a good week so far.. :)

Visited a few places this week.. Newton Food Centre.. Ikea Tampines.. Loewen Gardens @ Dempsey.. Liang Court..

Finished work early yesterday afternoon & went to Liang Court where I had this for my afternoon tea cum dinner..

I had to cook my order!

Pepper Lunch's Beef Pepper Rice with egg, cheese & mushroom! Yum Yum!
胡椒牛肉飯，加雞蛋；芝士；香菇！好吃！

Also stopped by Meidi-Ya Supermarket located there & bought these.. :)

Doraemon Gummy Sweets..

Doraemon Chocolate Corn Cup snack..

Drove to IKEA Tampines yesterday afternoon! :)

We were there to shop for stuff for our new house.. :)

Both the boys enjoying their ice-cream after all the shopping..

LOL.. :p

Upon reaching our new house, the boys were eager to play with their new toys & the stuff I bought for them from IKEA Tampines..

Here's a few pics I took (via my iPhone 4 32GB) of them playing @ our new home..

The boys having fun playing with the stuff I bought for them from Ikea..

Yup, everything is from Ikea except for the toy cars..

The casts from Cars & Cars 2 fit in nicely! :D

Can you spot them?! ;D
