As he's turning 2 years old in 2 weeks' time, so we decided that it was time for us to enrol him into a playschool..
We have mixed feelings about it..
On one hand, I am happy that Jonathan gets to meet & interact with other kids his age, he gets to learn to be more independent, there will be significant developments in his physical, intellectual, emotional, social, aesthetics & creative domains while he's at the centre..
I'm also happy to find that he has a very nice playgroup teacher who communicates with parents often & am happy that she has feedbacked to me that Jonathan is getting used to her & the school routine..
On the other hand, I've heard lots of parents mentioning that when kids attend classes at childcare centres, it's inevitable for them to be prone to fall sick much more easily..
We are worried for Jonathan in this area as he has been an extremely healthy boy since birth & has hardly ever fell sick..
We are keeping our fingers cross..
When I went to pick Jonathan up from his school today, I heard him coughing several times.. :(
We are praying hard he remains strong & healthy & immuned..
What's most important is we hope Jonathan enjoys himself @ his playgroup class..
Here's what the school gave us..
I, especially, like the Communication Book which is a booklet where parents & teachers could use in updating each other. The message written by the teacher will be dated & signed and for the parents to acknowledge. Likewise, our messages & instructions written in the book will be taken care of by the teacher as the book will be checked daily..The school believes very strongly in communication as it is vital & develops further understanding & stronger ties among the children, parents, teachers as well as the centre.
