My late maternal grandpa, Joseph Chee's funeral mass, followed by cremation service and lunch for the relatives @ Peng Restaurant today..

Today's the day..

Today was the final day of my late maternal grandpa, Joseph Chee's funeral wake..

A funeral mass was held this morning, 9am @ The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Chinese: 圣母圣诞堂)

Here are a few snapshots I "stole" via my iPhone 4 32GB while the funeral mass was being conducted in the church..

*At the bottom right of the photo is my late grandpa's coffin which has been covered with a white cloth*

After the mass, my late grandpa's body & coffin was then transported from the church to Mandai Crematorium for the cremation service..

The cremation service held, 11am @ Mandai Crematorium, was a rather brief one..

It was at the cremation service which I gave a eulogy for my grandpa whom I loved dearly..

I cried while I did so..

Will upload my eulogy in my next blog post..

Then the toughest moment for every single one of us in the family & our relatives was the moment when we had to say our last goodbyes before my late grandpa was slowly wheeled into the cremation chamber to be cremated..

All of us cried..

It was an extremely solemn moment..

It was so sad but we knew our sorrow is not forever cos' we'll meet him in heaven again someday..

Jonathan Ezra was so adorable..

He actually called "Chor Chor" (meaning: great grandfather in Hokkien).. Waved & said.. "Bye Bye".. And gave a flying kiss..

We all slowly & tearily bade our final farewell as the cremation chamber closed its doors...

After the cremation, our entire family invited all the relatives who came for the cremation service for lunch @ Peng Restaurant..

Only some of them joined us as most of them had to returned to work in the afternoon..

After lunch, our relatives left & our entire family retired back to my uncle Anthony's residence @ Rio Vista Condominium to rest..

Today is the 3rd day of my late maternal grandpa, Joseph Chee's funeral wake..

Our entire family have been busy at my late maternal grandpa, Joseph Chee's wake these past 3 days..

(We've published the obituary in today's The Straits Times newspaper, dated today -15th of January 2011)

We have 2 more days to go as his funeral mass, followed by his cremation will be held this coming Monday, 17th of January 2011..

We have so many relatives (Singaporeans; Malaysians & others..), friends & loved ones visiting these past 3 days..

Just yesterday, my aunts were mentioning that it doesn't seem like it's a funeral wake, but a celebration instead.. LOL.. =P

We all thought it sounds quite appropriate anyway, as we, who believe in God, believe that my maternal grandpa has gone back to heaven, thus, we should be celebrating instead of mourning! :)

My family & I all agree that out of all the flower bouquets we've received, my company sent the biggest & the nicest among all! :)

Our family catered buffet meals daily @ the wake.. for ourselves & also all the visitors..

How cool is that..

The food we catered was from Peng Restaurant..

There were different menus for each day & the food was good..

My maternal grandpa, Joseph Chee... 1921-2011

My maternal grandpa has passed away peacefully this morning..

My mum SMSed me at 8am this morning, mentioning that she was rushing down to my aunt Cynthia's residence @ Edgefield Plains, Punggol, where my maternal grandparents were also residing..

She mentioned that my maternal grandpa was not responding in anyway..

At 11am plus, the doctor came & certified that my maternal grandpa has passed away peacefully at 10am plus..

I was sadden by the news as I love my maternal grandparents lots & the same goes for them..

Now my maternal grandpa has left us..

But our greatest consolation is that he has lived a very fulfilled life & has even fulfilled his last simple wish of celebrating his 90th birthday recently on the 1st of January 2011 this year..

I also thank God that I persisted on going to visit him last evening & managed to see him for the very last time before he left us..

Rest in peace, "kong kong"..

Miss you & Love you forever..

Till we meet again..

Went to visit my maternal grandpa again yesterday..

It pains me to see his condition deteriorating..

He's now just left with skin & bones..

He has not been able to eat & can't seem to be able to open his eyes..

Tuesday, 11th of January 2011..

Had McDonald's Samurai Burger Set Meal @ 383 Bukit Timah Road..

Brunch! ;p

In the afternoon, I visited DBL O's office & art gallery, located @ 222 Queen Street..

Interesting art installation.. :p

Spent the late afternoon shopping @ Bugis & drinking KOI!!! LOL.. :p

Food & movies this week.. ;)

Everytime I visited Pastamania, the dish I would frequently order is their ever-popular Creamy Chicken Pasta..

But recently, I've tried their Carbonara Pasta, & I'm hooked!!! LOL.. :p

Just had it for lunch again on Monday afternoon @ Causeway Point Shopping Centre.. LOL.. :p

We went to have desserts @ this dessert shop, located on Level 2 of AMK Hub..

Sherlin & I tried their Glutinuous Rice Balls in red bean paste & ginger soup while Ace had their papaya with fungus sweet soup..

Their desserts were not bad at all! (Sorry, I was too busy eating, didn't take any photos here.. ) ;p

On Tuesday, I was @ White Sands Mall during my lunchtime..

After doing some shopping, I dropped by the Japanese food kiosk - MEN MEN DON DON @ the mall's level 1 and tried their Tonkutsu Ramen set.. :)

Delicious!!!

The ramen texture was surprisingly smooth & tasty!!! :)

Had my all-time favourite Subway meal for lunch with 2 of my colleagues on Wednesday afternoon! :)

On Thursday afternoon, me & my colleague, Vellos, went for lunch @ Ajisen Ramen, located inside the Food Street - Tokyo Walker, located on Level 4 of Plaza Singapura..

I had the Tan Tan Ramen set,

while Vellos had the Cha Su Ramen set..

Yum Yum! :p

After lunch, we went to buy snacks from Daiso! :)

On the 2nd day of the New Year 2011.. A day @ Bugis Junction..

Our family visited Bugis Junction today!

I dropped by the M1 Customer Service outlet @ Bugis Junction today..

Finally decided to get myself a Blackberry Curve to replace my current Nokia company phone..

(Yeah, the iPhone 4 32GB is my personal phone..)

As the company mobile phone expenses & its usage is paid for entirely by my company, thus, I decided to get the Blackberry Curve..

Now having both an iPhone 4 32GB & a Blackberry Curve.. Comparing between the both of them.. I must say I still prefer my iPhone 4 32GB best! LOL.. :p

On the very first day of the New Year 2011..

Like I mentioned in my earlier blog post, the very first day of the New Year's a very eventful day for us..

It was Mabel Eva's birthday.. My aunt Maggie's birthday.. Our friends', Joanne & Phillip's new shop official opening ceremony & also my maternal grandfather's 90th birthday party!!!

Thus, in the morning, our family celebrated  Mabel Eva's birthday with a pandan-flavoured cake from Bengawan Solo..

In the afternoon, our family attended our friends' Joanne & Phillip's new shop official opening ceremony @ Eunos..

They specially had lunch buffet catered..

Their new shop is much bigger compared to their previous one..

That evening, our entire family, relatives & friends all attended my maternal grandfather's 90th birthday party held @ their residence in Edgefield Plains, Punggol..
